Hyves Improvements

The largest Dutch social networking website Hyves, has grown to 5 million members. This was enough reason to organise a special Hyves party. The biggest DJ's where there as well as lots of well known press. In this interview by Vincent Everts you can hear all about the improvements of Hyves from the company owner Raymond Spanjar.

With a total of 40 people to support 5 million members, you can say that with a larger crew, Hyves would have the abillity to grow even more rapidly and become a faster Social Network with more Functional Design and greater options. In the interview Raymond Spanjar claims to have succeeded, where the interviewer rightfully says that they are just getting started.

By looking at Raymond you can see he does not like the question about the fact that Hyves needs a completely new Website, because it was made for a 100.000 people instead of 5 million. He claims that they do not need a new site, but that they will continue to grow, add more functions and even cooperate with other websites.

Raymond's idea is that Hyves will become a starting point online. Ones you are logged in you can access several websites without having to log in. I question whether this is going to work. I was surprised to see a pop-up in msn style when i was on Hyves yesterday.

It told me that a friend was now on Hyves. It is very handy, but about as original as the song Heaven, by Do. These small adjustments may not be enough to add more functionality to Hyves, but maybe they are just getting started.
